It was early March 2020 and Covid-19 had quickly swept the nation placing strict gathering restrictions and social distancing guidelines on all the couples hoping to wed. Many Weddings were postponed or outright canceled, but a little pandemic couldn’t stop Shawn and Lauren Guderian from being married!
Although the guest list dropped dramatically to honor the gathering restrictions set forth in North Carolina, the parents of the Bride still managed to put on a beautiful wedding for the young couple and their dearest friends and family.
The father of the Bride, known for his craftsman skills, hand built a unique triangular altar that the two were married beneath in a sprawling field on this crisp spring afternoon. After the ceremony and cocktail hour were complete, the newlyweds shared their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. on the dance floor, also hand crafted by the Bride’s father. When it was time for the Bride to dance with her father, everyone got a huge surprise and big laugh as they broke out in choreographed dance to DMX’s “Part Up”.
Dinner was provided by a local food truck giving the wedding a fun backyard vibe with a tasty edge! Guests ate and mingled by the fire pit to keep toasty warm. When dinner was complete, the donut wall filled with an assortment of wake and bake donuts, became the focus of many guests’ eyes. A gorgeous, simple white wedding cake was also on the menu for dessert. The Bride and Groom cut the cake and fed one another lovingly for all their guests to see.
Once the formalities were complete, the temperatures had dropped and the best way to keep warm was on the dance floor! Regal Events DJ provided the beats and guests danced the rest of the evening away, all the while keeping their social distance.
The Bride and Groom made their exit by way of Sparklers which was gorgeous against the night sky. Guests took home a small succulent as a wedding favor and a reminder of the small but sassy wedding they attended that time during a Pandemic. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Guderian! We are absolutely certain that you will never let anything stop your love from blossoming and growing!
