Even Hurricane Florence couldn’t stop Sarah and Mark Riddinger from joining in holy matrimony on Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina.
After the hurricane came through, Mark and Sarah didn’t even know if their venue was still standing. Unable to reach anyone by phone, they hopped in their car and made the 20 hour drive south, determined that their destination wedding would go on!
As it turned out their beach front venue, The Isles Tiki Restaurant, had miraculously sustained no damage. The sun was shining on their wedding day and although the sea was dark and rough it made a magical backdrop for their beach ceremony.
Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio and a delicious dinner provided by the venue. Family made the beach themed wedding cake which weighed 70 pounds and tasted like a slice of heaven!
At sunset The Bride and Groom were back to the beach for sunset photos with their photographer, Stephanie Moore. When they returned, Mark and Sarah’s bridal party was full of spunk and eager to celebrate the union of their friends. They danced all night long, shouting the words to their favorite songs as they surrounded the Bride and Groom on the dance floor.
Despite the fear and uncertainty that surrounded Hurricane Florence here in North Carolina , Mark and Sarah Riddinger and their loved ones showed us that love always prevails and a wedding must go on!
